Fred Rowley has worked for over 40 years in the life insurance industry. He qualified as an actuary in the UK, and relocated to Australia in 1990 and has fulfilled a range of senior financial and general management roles.
As a senior actuary, he has advised companies, boards, and insurance regulators, on matters including: financial reporting, embedded values, capital and risk management; corporate reconstructions, demutualisation, and M&A transactions; and, product development, corporate planning and strategy.
From 2007 to 2009, Fred was instrumental in negotiating the CERA treaty, which brought together leading actuarial associations worldwide to create the first global credential for actuaries in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). He was President of the International Actuarial Association in 2015.
