This session will provide, with some examples, an overview of what the actuary would likely have to think about when designing and pricing long-term insurance products in a low-interest rate environment.
Georgios, based in London, UK, is the Head of Model Development & Analytics within Actuarial Control at Swiss Re where he leads the Actuarial Atelier initiative which helps actuarial teams combine domain expertise with best practice Programming, Data Science and Communication skills. Georgios has previously worked for 6 years in the Longevity Pricing team at Swiss Re and prior to pursuing an actuarial career, worked as an Insurance Consultant for 10 years in native Greece. Georgios holds a BSc in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries where he also Chairs the Programming for Actuarial Work Working Party.
