This webinar will provide a refresher for actuaries and highlight the latest thinking of operational risk management and its challenges for financial services.
Thought leaders in this field will discuss the actuarial interface with Operational Risk Management, and Operational Risk modelling. We will discuss if actuaries are at all needed for this risk and the relevance of Operational Risk science and models for the Financial Services industry.
The 60-minute session aims to allow understanding where actuaries are challenged in this risk class and its direction of travel.
Speakers:
Toshihiro Kawano, FIAJ
Toshihiro is a practicing actuary with over 40 years' experience in life insurance. He is currently Chief Actuary for Sony Life With Insurance Co., Ltd. based in Japan.
Member of the Actuarial Standards Committee of the IAA and Solvency Working Group of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan; Co-author of the operational risk chapter of the IAA Risk Book, and Past chair of IAA’s Insurance Regulation Committee.
Patrick Kelliher, FIA CERA
Patrick has worked in financial services for over 30 years and has extensive practical experience in operational risk identification, management and modelling over the years.
He is currently the managing director of Crystal Risk Consulting Ltd., and the Chair of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) Operational Risk Working Party. He has also been is also a member of the IFoA's risk management research and thought leadership committees and other risk working parties.
