Appointment of New IAA Executive Director

Images intégrées 2The Executive Committee of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mathieu Langelier as the new Executive Director, effective January 3, 2017. Mathieu replaces outgoing Executive Director Mrs. Nicole Séguin, who has held this position since September 1997, following the announcement of her retirement effective December 31, 2016.

Mathieu holds a Bachelor’s degree with double majors in Economics and Politics, and a Masters degree in Public Administration. He comes to the IAA with 10 years of experience in the not-for-profit and financial institutions sectors, having served since 2014 as Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Management Institute of Canada. In his previous private sector career, Mathieu worked as a Risk Manager in the mortgage insurance industry for Genworth Financial Canada and Canada Guarantee. He is recognized as a passionate organizational builder specializing in governance and as a leader who works closely with boards and volunteers. A firm believer in ethics, he values integrity and possesses superior interpersonal skills with fluency in English, French and Spanish.

Mathieu stated that he is proud and honored to have been selected for this position.
