ICA 2010 - UNITED IN OUR DIVERSITY

HAPPY NEW YEAR
The ICA 2010 Organising Committee would like to wish everyone a successful and prosperous year ahead. We have been looking forward to 2010 for a long time and now the congress is just around the corner! If you’ve registered already, we look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town soon. If you have not yet registered, you can still do so here. Don’t miss out - join more than 1300 of your actuarial colleagues from more than 90 countries for the 29th International Congress of Actuaries in Cape Town.

PROGRAMME – ABSTRACTS AND PAPERS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE
Upon arrival at the congress delegates will receive the congress handbook containing the full programme. In the meantime, if you are still deciding whether or not to attend, or if you are attending and want to develop your “plan of attack” for the congress week, you can use the website to review the programme tracks, speakers, abstracts and papers that have been submitted. Click here to use the search function and search by track, author or abstract reference number. We will soon be adding a layer of search capability so you will be able to search by session or day.

Please note that papers and presentations will not be printed. You are invited to use the website to find the papers and presentations that interest you, and print personal copies if necessary.

PowerPoint presentations will be made available on the website after the congress.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TOUR – HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The ICA 2010 Organising Committee has teamed up with Ikamva Labantu (“the future of our nation”), a South African non-profit, non-governmental organisation, to assist with improvements desperately needed at an orphanage in the Guguletu township. Participants will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of a group of orphaned children by assisting with building alterations that will provide extra space, proper waterproofing, storage and electricity.

This social responsibility tour has been added to the Afternoon Excursions for Tuesday, 9 March and Thursday, 11 March. While the cost of transport and refreshments for this tour are included in the congress registration fee, participants may also like to make a donation to Ikamva Labantu.

For more information, please click here. To register for the social responsibility tour, please click here. If you have already registered for another excursion you are welcome to switch to the social responsibility tour and we will update our records accordingly.
