ICA 2010 - UNITED IN OUR DIVERISITY

UNTIL 2010

The ICA 2010 community of registered delegates stands at almost 1200! If you’ve already registered, thanks for doing so and we look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town. If you haven’t registered yet, please do so right away, you don’t want to miss out.

The Organising Committee of ICA 2010 would also like to wish you all a safe and restful holiday season with friends and family. See you in 2010!

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TOUR – HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The ICA 2010 Organising Committee has teamed up with Ikamva Labantu (“the future of our nation”), a South African non-profit, non-governmental organisation, to assist with improvements desperately needed at an orphanage in the Guguletu township. Participants will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of a group of orphaned children by assisting with building alterations that will provide extra space, proper waterproofing, storage and electricity.

This social responsibility tour has been added to the Afternoon Excursions for Tuesday, 9 March and Thursday, 11 March. While the cost of transport and refreshments for this tour are included in the congress registration fee, participants may also like to make a donation to Ikamva Labantu.

AN ALTERNATIVE VIEW OF CAPE TOWN
Cape Selections has been appointed to offer ICA 2010 participants a slightly different insight into the endless attractions in and around Cape Town.

Adrenalin junkies might like an exhilarating inflatable boat ride along the spectacular Atlantic Seaboard coastline; nature lovers will have the opportunity to hike through the unique Cape fynbos landscape on the slopes of the mountains in Silvermine Nature Reserve; mountain bikers can enjoy a guided day’s ride through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve; and animal lovers can get “up close and personal” with a Chacma Baboon. If it is local culture you are interested in then sign up for the Xhosa language workshop and learn about one of South Africa’s 11 official languages. And a trip to Robben Island will take you through the struggle history of South Africa and how far South Africa has come since the dark days of apartheid.
